The Author
Chris Allen is a historian, author, and storyteller based in Savannah, Georgia. His work explores the intersection of history, memory, folklore, and the lingering mysteries that cling to old places. Drawing from years of research in archives, historic newspapers, and local records, Allen brings forgotten lives and overlooked stories back into view through atmospheric, carefully researched writing.
He is the founder of Destination Ghost Tours, where he has guided thousands of visitors through Savannah’s historic streets, sharing stories rooted in documented history as well as the legends that have grown around them. Through these experiences, Allen developed a distinctive storytelling voice that blends historical accuracy with vivid, immersive narrative, allowing audiences to experience the past as something alive rather than distant.
Allen writes across several genres. His work includes historical nonfiction, paranormal research and folklore, essays on Southern history and culture, and original fiction. He frequently shares short stories that explore Southern Gothic themes, quiet horror, and the emotional weight of memory and place. Alongside these creative works, he writes a wide range of nonfiction exploring history, hauntings, cultural traditions, and the strange ways the past continues to shape the present.
He is the author of Haunted Savannah Coloring Book and continues to develop a growing body of historical and narrative works inspired by Savannah and the broader American South. Through books, tours, articles, and storytelling projects, Chris Allen invites readers to look more closely at the places around them, where history, legend, and imagination often meet just beneath the surface.
